Veteran Nollywood actor Ogogo diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, children plead for help
Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. According to his daughter Shaki Taiwo, the hospital has stopped his treatment and cannot administer further chemotherapy. In an Instagram video posted Monday night, Shaki pleaded for medical or traditional help, saying her father does not want to die and is in pain. She acknowledged Senator Yayi has been covering the medical bills so far. Another daughter, Haleemah, said the family only learned of the diagnosis three weeks ago. Ogogo, a veteran of Yoruba cinema, remains in pain and unhappy with his current condition.
The news highlights the urgent need for alternative treatment options for a beloved cultural figure whose care has stalled despite financial support. Public attention could help uncover medical leads, traditional remedies, or support networks that might improve his quality of life or extend treatment.
If you have information about cancer treatment centers, traditional healers, or support resources that could assist Ogogo, how can you share those leads with the family or Senator Yayi's office? Will you amplify the plea to help connect him with possible care?
