CCII made this declaration via a statement signed by its President-General, Barrister Sulaimon Ajeniyi Ajewole. The said dethronement move was linked to another alleged plan to impeach the governor. CCII which is the apex socio-cultural group in the ancient city, in the statement, noted that the crisis had been laid to rest. It declared that external forces that attempted to escalate the situation have been defeated. The group debunked the alleged dethroment and impeachment plots. The organization explained that the disagreement between the duo has been addressed through dialogue and traditional conflict-resolution mechanisms in Ibadanland. “The issues between Governor Makinde and the Olubadan have been resolved amicably, and the external forces that attempted to create a crisis around the situation have been defeated. “Nobody is planning to impeach Governor Makinde, and nobody is also planning to remove the Olubadan from his throne,” the statement said.
