Wike Accuses Kwara, Imo Governors of Undermining Him Ahead of 2027 Polls
Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike accused Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma of working against him ahead of the 2027 general elections, speaking during a media chat earlier today. Wike specifically stated that AbdulRazaq is championing a campaign against him, particularly over allegations that he sponsored political candidates in Kwara State. He revealed that the removal of three senators and a House of Representatives member from the APC has created a political dilemma for AbdulRazaq, suggesting these displaced officials might join opposition parties like ADC or NDC and work against President Tinubu's re-election bid. Wike argued that politicians aligning with him would support Tinubu, while those moving to opposition could undermine the President. Despite these disagreements, Wike reaffirmed his unwavering support for President Tinubu's 2027 re-election, warning that failing to back the President could expose him to political retaliation if Tinubu loses. 'I will be the first politician that Atiku, Obi will hunt for his head,' he stated, emphasizing that his priority remains ensuring Tinubu's victory to avoid becoming a target for opposition leaders.
