Willian chose Chelsea over Man United for more game time and top players

Brazilian international Estevao Willian joined Chelsea over Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur because the Blues offered more playing opportunities and a chance to compete with the world's best players. Speaking to The Sun, the 18-year-old explained his decision: 'The project with Chelsea was different because it gives you more opportunities to be in the game. I thought Chelsea would be the perfect future for me because it would get me more minutes and be amongst the best players in the world.' Willian had been linked with United, Spurs and Forest before signing for Chelsea last summer after joining from Palmeiras in 2024.
