YPP presidential candidate Peter Agada said he will not restore petrol subsidy if elected in 2027, stating 'I will stick to the gun with the present administration. We will remove subsidy the way they have done.' Speaking on Channels Television's Politics Today earlier today, he pledged to maintain Tinubu's removal policy while reforming government spending to improve revenue.

Agada argued Nigeria's revenue challenges stem from oil resource management, citing Minister of State for Finance Taiwo Oyedele's observation that after deductions, the Federal Government gets only about 1,000 barrels per day from 1.8 million barrels produced daily. He emphasized reforming Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) processes to reduce waste, stating expenditure is Nigeria's bigger problem than revenue.

This contrasts with opponents like ADC's Atiku Abubakar who promised subsidy restoration to lower petrol prices. With pump prices elevated since Tinubu's 2023 subsidy removal, Agada offers voters a choice: maintain current policy while targeting government inefficiencies versus restoring subsidies for immediate price relief.

Would you prefer Agada's focus on spending reform over subsidy restoration to address Nigeria's cost of living and revenue challenges?
