Zenith Bank officially opens Côte d'Ivoire subsidiary tomorrow (April 29, 2026), strategically positioning itself in Francophone West Africa. Licensed by Ivorian Ministry of Finance in December 2025 and regulated by UMOA Banking Commission, the new branch at SCI Wall Street, Avenue Noguès, Plateau, Abidjan will commence operations with focus on corporate banking, trade finance, and cross-border services.

The expansion marks Zenith's entry into WAEMU (West African Economic and Monetary Union) and follows successful operations in Anglophone countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and The Gambia. The subsidiary will be led by MD/CEO Mr. Cédric Tano, a banking executive with over two decades of experience.

CEO Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji OON called this 'a bold step in realising our Founder's vision of building a truly global brand with strong presence across Africa.' The launch supports businesses seeking cross-border opportunities in Côte d'Ivoire's growing economy.

With this expansion, Zenith continues its Pan-African growth strategy, having also commenced entry into the CEMAC region with Cameroon as focal point. The bank now operates in 8 countries across Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia.
