Zichis Agro-Allied Industries Plc reported a profit before tax of N478.7 million for the first half of 2026, a 448.6% jump from the same period last year. Profit after tax surged 543.1% to N457.0 million, while revenue jumped 285.4% to N910.5 million. The unaudited results, filed with the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday, July 28, show earnings per share rose to 38 kobo from 12 kobo a year earlier.

Egg sales led revenue with N288.95 million, followed by feed mill products at N206.28 million and palm oil at N193.65 million, which grew a staggering 984.85% year-on-year. Chicken and fish sales also rose sharply. Administrative costs rose faster than revenue at 326.8%, but strong gross profit expansion kept profitability soaring.

The balance sheet shows total assets grew to N3.60 billion, funded largely by a new N2.00 billion long-term debt, while cash rose to N1.15 billion. Shareholders’ equity increased to N1.54 billion. The share price closed at N25.00 on July 28, down 7.2% from the previous close but still up over 1,200% from its January 2026 listing price.

With earnings growth accelerating, what impact might this have on your investment decisions or expectations for Nigeria’s agro-allied sector?
