The AI Experience – ABUAD 2026
ABUAD Students Are About to Experience AI Differently — Inside The AI Experience 2026
On Friday, May 15, 2026, students at Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) will gather at Alfa Belgore Hall for something intentionally different from the typical campus tech seminar.
Called The AI Experience – ABUAD 2026, the event is being organized by Omnific Works in collaboration with the African Technology Forum (ATF) and hosted on campus by the ABUAD Student Representative Council (SRC) alongside affiliated student organizations and communities, as part of a broader effort to expose Nigerian students to the real-world possibilities of Artificial Intelligence.
But unlike conventional university awareness events built around long speeches and passive listening, The AI Experience is designed as a hands-on, student-first engagement that helps attendees actually experience AI in action.
From live demonstrations and interactive sessions to career conversations and collaborative participation, the goal is simple: make AI feel practical, accessible, and immediately relevant to students across every discipline.

Why This Event Matters
One of the biggest problems in African tech education today is not lack of talent — it is lack of exposure.
Thousands of students hear about AI every day, but very few truly understand:
- how it works,
- how it affects their future careers,
- or how they can participate in the opportunities it is creating.
For many students, AI still feels distant — something reserved for elite programmers in Silicon Valley or advanced researchers abroad.
The AI Experience is designed to break that perception completely.
This event is focused on helping ABUAD students understand that AI is already reshaping:
- Medicine
- Law
- Agriculture
- Engineering
- Business
- Media
- Finance
- Research
- Design
- Education
And more importantly, students do not need to be Computer Science students to benefit from it.

Moving Beyond “Tech Talks”
Omnific Works is intentionally reimagining what campus innovation engagement should look like.
Instead of another passive information session, The AI Experience is being structured as an immersive environment where students can:
- interact directly with AI tools,
- participate in guided experiences,
- ask practical questions,
- collaborate with peers,
- and begin thinking about real solutions to African problems.
The focus is not just awareness — it is activation.
Students will see firsthand how AI can assist with:
- academic productivity,
- research workflows,
- creative work,
- startup ideas,
- communication,
- data analysis,
- career development,
- and problem-solving across industries.
For many attendees, this may be the first time AI shifts from being a buzzword to becoming something tangible and usable.

Introducing Students to the ATF AI Challenge
A major highlight of the event will also be the introduction to the ATF AI Challenge, a pan-African initiative supporting 15,000 young innovators across:
- Nigeria
- Ghana
- Kenya
- South Africa
The initiative is designed to help students and young graduates:
- learn practical AI skills,
- build real-world solutions,
- access mentorship,
- receive technical support,
- and connect with future career opportunities.
The ATF pathway focuses heavily on solving African problems with African context in mind — from healthcare and education to agriculture and financial access.
For ABUAD students, this creates a direct bridge between university learning and emerging innovation ecosystems shaping the continent’s future.

Why ABUAD Is the Perfect Environment
ABUAD has built a reputation around excellence, innovation, and multidisciplinary education. From its medical programs and engineering culture to entrepreneurship and research development, the university already sits at the intersection of many sectors AI is transforming globally.
That is exactly why The AI Experience matters.
The future AI economy will not only reward coders. It will reward:
- problem-solvers,
- researchers,
- builders,
- communicators,
- healthcare innovators,
- entrepreneurs,
- and multidisciplinary thinkers.
Events like this help students begin positioning themselves early.

The Bigger Conversation
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the defining technologies of this generation. But the real question is no longer whether AI will change the future.
It is who gets prepared early enough to shape that future.
The AI Experience – ABUAD 2026 is part of a larger effort to ensure that students in places like Ado-Ekiti are not left behind as Africa’s innovation landscape evolves.
The next wave of African innovators will emerge from campuses where curiosity, collaboration, and exposure meet opportunity.
This event is designed to create exactly that moment. Secure your seat here: https://forms.gle/NPyaZB4jzf2bD7xr7
